Jennifer Qarri

Consultant Psychologist (she/her)

Therapy can feel intimidating, particularly when you’re not sure where to begin. I aim to create a relaxed, collaborative space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, talk openly without judgement, and even find some humour along the way. I see therapy as a balance between understanding yourself more deeply and making meaningful changes in your everyday life.

I’m curious about the “why” behind what we experience. Together, we can explore how past experiences, relationships, attachment, culture and ways of coping may have shaped how you think, feel and respond today. I enjoy developing a shared understanding of these patterns, while also helping you build practical skills that you can take outside the therapy room.

My approach draws on CBT, ACT, DBT, attachment-based frameworks and concepts from Circle of Security. I’m flexible and collaborative in how I work, adapting therapy to what feels most helpful for you. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and I’m here to bring psychological knowledge and curiosity to help you make sense of your experiences.

I have a particular interest in eating disorders, disordered eating and body image, as well as trauma and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, attachment and self-harm. I’m especially interested in understanding the function behind behaviours and how past experiences can continue to influence our relationships, emotions and sense of safety. My interest in body image is also informed by my research into contemporary body ideals and body dissatisfaction in young adult women.

I have experience working with adults and young people experiencing complex mental health difficulties in public mental health settings. When working with young people, I take a systemic approach and value working alongside parents and families.

Jennifer is available on Thursdays and Fridays work with  individuals aged 12+.
